Membership Application

The Benton Franklin County Medical Society offers four member types:

Active Member, $225
($115 for your first year of membership)
An active member shall be one who holds the degree of Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathy, or Bachelor of Medicine which has been issued by an institution accepted by the Washington State Board of Medical Examiners; is currently licensed by the state of Washington to practice as a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or is practicing in the state of Washington with a federal waiver (i.e., research, administration, etc.); maintains a practice or resides in Benton or Franklin County or in a neighboring county if it is more convenient to attend the meetings of BFCMS; and has the right to vote and hold office and may vote as a delegate or alternate to the Washington State Medical Association’s House of Delegates.

Limited Member, $105
A limited member shall be one who is otherwise qualified for active membership and who limits the practice of medicine to less than twenty hours per week or retired from active practice of medicine after at least 25 years. A limited member shall have all the rights and privileges of an active member.

Physician Assistant Member, $105
A Physician Assistant Member shall be one who has graduated from an accredited program which is approved by the Washington State Board of Medical Examiners; is currently licensed by the Washington State Board of Medical Examiners; practices or resides in Benton or Franklin County or in a neighboring county if it is more convenient to attend the meetings of BFCMS; and has the right to vote and hold office in the Physician Assistant position only.

Medical Student & Resident Member, no cost
A medical student, resident or other physician who is in training in an institution which is appropriately qualified in the judgment of the Society may be elected to this category of membership. Medical students will be entitled to all privileges of active membership with the exception of voting or holding office.
